The Wizard of Oz

By Craig Lee
Alexander Mackenzie High School and Mackenzie Music
The immortal MGM classic The Wizard of Oz turns 80 this year! Based on the beloved novel by L. Frank Baum and featuring songs by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, the technicolor film premiered at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on August 15, 1939. Faithfully adapted from the MGM film, this full-length stage production features all the classic characters, dialogue, and songs that audiences have cherished for generations such as: If I Only Had A Brain, We're Off To See The Wizard, Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead, and of course, Over The Rainbow.
